Are Asthma Symptoms Taking Your Breath Away?

Asthma symptoms are quite common yet troubling.

You have probably witnessed a time when a child, while playing, is suddenly caught by a fit of coughing and wheezing, and employs the use of an inhaler to calm himself. What is it that the child might be dealing with? It may be that he or she is diagnosed with asthma, a common inflammatory disease of the airways. This chronic disease is found in all kinds of people, from young to old, and can require an extra set of tools and supplements to improve the quality of life for these people. Chances are, you know someone who is diagnosed with asthma, or are experiencing it for yourself. If that is the case, read on. This article will present a few basic things that you may need to understand about this condition and a natural solution that is helping many people.

It's true that most people with asthma will experience some kind of inflammation, airflow obstruction or bronchi spasms, which will induce wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, or even a tight feeling in the chest. These symptoms can be extremely uncomfortable-and even dangerous, if they are not dealt with quickly and correctly.

The cause of such a condition is probably a mixture of a number of factors, including heredity and the influence of the environment, especially during developmental stages. There are different levels of severity that have been observed, and all depend on these factors that were previously mentioned. The severity of the condition will also determine what kinds of medicines will be most effective in treatment. Most of the time, treatment of the symptoms mentioned above can be given through the inhalation of a quickly acting beta-2 agonist. That is something that you may see when a person uses an inhaler. There are many reports of getting great results with all natural solutions that help your body to reduce the inflammation.

However, in order to avoid some of the kinds of breathing attacks that occur with asthma, it is a good idea for the individual to try to avoid some of the triggers. This may include hard exercise, certain allergens (such as cat or dog allergens, dust mites, or certain plants), or any other irritant that serves to make the attacks worse. It is important to be aware of what things trigger these symptoms, so that they can be eliminated from the immediate environment of the individual.

Some of the ways to prevent asthma are the following: keeping the child in a clean and hygienic environment (this includes daycare;) limiting the amount of exposure to smoke that a child receives as an infant, as well as in the womb, and being aware of the possible allergens in your home and community.

This condition can be dealt with and reducing the inflammation that causes the symptoms seems to be effective. Continue to research the disease in order to understand it more fully find solutions that will work for you.
Many people are relieving their asthma and allergy symptoms by reducing their inflammation with an all natural product made from the Nopal Cactus Juice. Find out more by following this link on Nopalea

The Health Benefits of the Prickly Pear Nopal Cactus

Many individuals keep a prickly pear cactus in their homes or gardens for decoration. What you may not realize, however, is that the prickly pear cactus is full of antioxidants that are beneficial to your health. It also boasts a high concentration of vitamin C. This is the vitamin known to provide a boost to the human immune system. Also known as the nopal cactus, the prickly pear is native to Mexico and fares best in warm climates.

Weight Control and Diabetes

This type of cactus is particularly beneficial for diabetics. A 2005 study performed by researchers in Mexico City demonstrated that a diabetic who incorporates the nopal cactus into his daily diet can expect to see his glucose levels drop dramatically. This may be partially due to the fact that certain nutrients within the pads of the cactus prevent the body from absorbing excess sugar from other foods.

This information isn't just pertinent to diabetics, however. Individuals who are actively trying to lose weight can also benefit from lower blood glucose levels. High glucose levels can lead to more acute hunger which can, in turn, lead to overeating. In addition to controlling glucose, the cactus is a high fiber food. Individuals who consume foods high in fiber have a tendency to feel full for much longer than those who snack on foods high in sugar. Thus, the cactus may be a good dietary addition for those attempting to control their weight.
The Digestive System

Nopal cactus has been used for thousands of years by Mexican Indians as a dietary supplement to regulate the digestive system. Individuals who incorporate nopal cactus supplements into their diets can expect to experience a greater degree of regularity in their bowel movements. The cactus also contains high levels of insoluble fibers. Because of this, it serves as a natural colon cleanser and rids the body of impurities found within the colon that can interfere with the body's digestive health.

For those who have struggled with pancreatitis in the past, nopal cactus juice may present a delicious solution to a painful problem. The same insoluble fibers that serve as colon cleansers also absorb excess bile excreted by the pancreas. Excess bile that is not absorbed is stored by the gallbladder and can lead to gall stones. Gall stones can cause further episodes of pancreatitis for chronic sufferers.

How to Take Prickly Pear

Nopal cactus can be eaten raw or cooked. If you are feeling particularly brave, you may cultivate a cactus at home and carefully strip its pads of their needles before roasting the pads or chopping them up into a salad. For many individuals, however, the work involved to prepare a dish with the cactus proves to be too much effort. If you want to enjoy the health benefits without the risk of biting into one of its sharp needles, you can purchase herbal supplements in pill form. These supplements contain cactus powder that provides you with similar health benefits as eating the cactus in its natural form. Additionally, you can also now purchase supplements in the form of liquid or juice. There are a few companies that offer a juice or concentration that contains high levels of antioxidants found in the nopal prickly pear cactus. And, if you happen to live in the southwestern United States, you may also be able to purchase the cactus already prepared at your local grocery store.

Modern research suggests that the nopal cactus can lower cholesterol, reduce inflammation, boost energy levels, and prevent nerve deterioration. Few vegetables can boast this wide of a repertoire of health benefits for the human body. If you are concerned about your health or weight, consider picking up some supplements or growing one of these versatile cacti in your own garden. You may discover that, health benefits aside, you just love the taste.

Nopal Cactus Juice - Its Amazing Healing

Cactus juice – a natural solution to inflammation!

Why is it important to control inflammation?

Inflammation can lead to chronic pain and serious disease.
What is inflammation? Inflammation is your immune system’s response to damage.
This damage can be caused by trauma (injury), bacterial, viral or parasitic infection, stress, genetic abnormalities, metabolic disorders, etc. Inflammation can also be brought on by, poor diet, stress, being overweight, or smoking. Inflammation can cause redness, swelling, heat, pain and loss of function of the effected area.

When you are injured, the inflammatory response immediately moves into action.
White blood cells rush to the damaged area and begin to destroy the damaged cells, while at the same time sending out chemical signals to call for more help.

This causes free radicals, to be released. Free radicals start to attack the damaged area, destroying some of the healthy cells in the process.

The new damage leads to another round of inflammation, and on it goes.
This cycle of inflammation is called chronic inflammation. That’s when you’re really in trouble. It is said that chronic inflammation is at epidemic levels! Inflammation may be silently burning inside of your body right now! For that nopal cactus juice can help to overcome this difficulty.

In time, this damage can affect your overall health. That’s why it is said that inflammation can lead to major diseases. The word Inflame, means to set on fire.

Very descriptive, wouldn’t you say?

Betalains are a special kind of antioxidant. That means that they fight toxins (harmful things in our body) and put out the flame of chronic inflammation.

Only Nopal cactus fruit has all of the 24 betalains known to man. This cactus lives in the harsh environment of the Sonoran desert. The large number of betalains allow it to survive the extreme heat of the desert. These same betalains will put out the fires of chronic inflammation burning within you.

In 2004, Time Magazine published a story about inflammation and its destructive effect on the body. Medical science has found more and more connection between chronic inflammation and crippling diseases. Since the Nopal cactus is the only plant that contains all 24 betalains, it stands to reason that you should be drinking this juice, just as the natives of the area have done for centuries.

Can Nopalea Help Normalize Blood Sugars and Treat Diabetes?

Many people have asked if the Nopal Cactus and Nopalea can help with blood sugar problems, so here is some information to help.

We know from personal experience in our local Black Hills TriVita Team that those who have had different stages of diabetes and blood sugar issues who follow our directions have had great results with Nopalea.
Nopalea seems to help regulate blood sugars without the negative side effects and liver damage, which is known to be one of the primary side effects of blood sugar prescriptions.
Safety note: Do not halt prescription drug use except under the direct supervision of a naturopathic or physician.

Conventional medicine companies do not want the public to learn about nopal and nopalea because it would cost many of millions of dollars in annual profits for diabetes drug sales. The public is intentionally kept ignorant about natural treatments for diabetes as a way to maximize corporate profits.

Most doctors have never heard of nopal, nopalea nor its blood sugar balancing effects. We suggest continuing all prescribed medicines and let your doctor notice the difference and makes changes.

The use of the nopal cactus goes way back into history as a plant used by the natives cultures for treatment of various maladies. The uses of the nopal cactus to lower blood sugar levels has been well documented by many private studies. Nopal cactus parts have been used in traditional south western medicine techniques for ages, specifically treating type two diabetes. The researchers were using the broiled nopal stems and their results showed a significant drop in blood sugar levels.

In recent private studies the Nopal Cactus Fruit from the Sonoran Desert have what is believed to be the the most powerful active ingredient. These ingredients are amazing anti oxidants called betalains. While betalains are found in limited numbers in other food sources such as beets and swiss chard, only a specific member of the Nopal Cactus contain all 24 betalains.
The prickly pear cactus which is known as nopal in Mexico used to make Nopalea has been proven to give good results in these areas also. A professor of nutrition at Andrews University, Winston F. Craig, Ph.D., wrote an article titled “Cactus prickly pear helps normalize blood sugar”

It is an informative article, in this article Professor Craig states

“In Mexican traditional medicine, prickly pear cactus (nopal) is used for the treatment of diabetes and high cholesterol. The blood sugar-lowering action of nopal has been documented in a number of studies.”
You can read it online here -> http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0826/is_1_21/ai_n8563785/
Here is Professor Craig’s credentials: ->> http://www.andrews.edu/~wcraig/

Professor Craig also states”Prickly pear cactus appears to be safe when consumed as food. When used medicinally to lower blood sugar levels, it has proven itself to be trustworthy and effective for individuals with diabetes…”
In fact the specific Nopal Cactus fruit used in Nopalea has the highest concentration of betalains in any food substance tested and it is this specific fruit that is formulated into the drink Nopalea.
If regulating your blood sugars has been a problem, I suggest trying this all natural fruit juice concentration and experience wellness with so many others.

How to Find the Right Chiropractor

Chances are that if you are looking for chiropractic care, then are in some pain. Many people will visit a chiropractor after a vehicle accident, sports injury, or in some cases simply sleeping wrong. Whatever the reason, the process of trying to find a chiropractor can be a somewhat daunting task for someone who has never visited one before. This article will provide you with simple steps to help you make a decision and find the right chiropractor.

4 Different Ways to Choose a Chiropractor:

Referrals: Ask your friends and family for a referral. As with many business professionals, good chiropractors will always come highly recommended it they did their job right. Your friends and family will give you an unbiased review of the care they received from the chiropractor and their office staff. The downside to referrals is that you may not know anyone who has been to a chiropractor.

Yellow Pages: Though somewhat outdated, the yellow pages is always a quick way to find a phone number. The downside is that you will get a very limited amount of information prior to contacting the mill creek chiropractor.

Internet Search: This method would involve typing a search into a major search engine and finding the chiropractors whose websites appear. This can be a great way to get a lot of information about a chiropractor prior to contacting them. The one downside to this is that a chiropractor will never post any negative experiences that a client may have had on their website.
Online Directories / Matching Services: Similar to the internet search, there a several online directories that will list a chiropractor's information. Chiropractors typically pay a fee to be listed or listed at the top and there generally aren't any requirements to be listed.

As you can see there are many different ways to find a chiropractor and all of them have advantages and disadvantages.

Your chiropractor should know his job perfectly and if he is not able to communicate effectively and understand from you exactly what you wish, and then he is not good at his job. The first thing a chiropractor needs to remember is that he needs to be an effective communicator and should be a good listener, so that he is able to give the right treatment.

Nopalea, If It Tastes That Good, It Has To Be Bad For You!

Nopalea is naturally sweetened with agave nectar, it has no added sugar and tastes fantastic! Making it one of the natural things that I love to enjoy that really tastes great and is very beneficial to my health.

  • How could a juice that is so beneficial for you taste so good?
  • Is Nopalea just loaded with sugars?
  • Does Nopalea have artificial sweeteners in it?
You may expect anything that is really good for you to taste bad! Cod liver oil, cough syrups, those nasty cough drops, any prescription medicine (if you manage to not get it swallowed before it starts to dissolve), liver, soy products, how about carob … This may be my personal list and experiences. The opposite also seems to be true, most things that taste really good are really not beneficial to our bodies.

My Great Taste Dangers

Sugar for one , in its many forms, it tastes great! Candy bars, ice cream, soda pop, cakes, pies, doughnuts and all those things that my sweet tooth craves! Sugar has been blamed for weight gains, dental problems, hyperactivity in children, and other increased health problems. These all have all been contributed to America’s increasing consumption of sugar. Cheese Burgers, pizza, hot wings, juicy cheese and bacon burgers… fattening. Weight gain and cholesterol seem to stick in my mind.

Tastes good, bad for you. Tastes bad, it must be good for you. That seems to have been true before I found my favorite healthy treat, Nopalea.

As I have gotten a little wiser and older, my tastes have changed a little. After all this year 2010 I became a Grandpa! It has been a few years and I have been trying to eat much healthier, exercising and taking better care of my self. I have found many healthy things that taste great and I look forward to.

The most beneficial thing that I really look forward to and tastes great is Nopalea. It provides me natural relief from aches and pains, and I simply look forward to and love the taste.

Nopalea in fact does taste really good, but it comes only from all natural sources. Nopal cactus fruit, the main active ingredient in Nopalea the nopal cactus juice, tastes naturally sweet. The added taste comes from another desert plant, the agave cactus. Agave nectar has been used and produced in Mexico as a sweetener for a long time. There are no other artificial sweeteners or sugar added. These ingredients are combined with other fruit and vegetable concentrates to maximize Nopalea’s benefits to your health. The formula alse uses a small amount of another sweetener and sugar substitute named stevia which takes the bitter edge off of the added fruits and vegetables. Stevia has been used as a sugar substitute for many years in Japan.

The results of all of the research and formulation is a wellness drink that I look forward to and tastes great. Better yet the active ingredient betalins relieve chronic inflammation, reduces pain in many cases and also helps regulate blood sugar levels.

Wow finally something that is sweet tastes great and is great for you!
Taste Nopalea, take the wellness challenge and see for your self what this great tasting juice will do for you!

The Many Health Benefits of Nopal Cactus Juice

Nopal cactus juice, made from the fruit of the prickly pear, is a great source of a rare form of antioxidants called Betalains. Betalains are naturally found in just a handful of fruits and vegetables, such as beets, rainbow swiss chard, and the nopal cactus fruit and are responsible for giving those items their pinkish-red pigmentation.

In humans, these rare antioxidants serve a very specific purpose within the cells- they capture and “diffuse” free radicals (unstable molecules) before they have a chance to destroy or damage anything. Free radical damage to the cells is what causes the aging process, which is why nopal cactus juice is said to have anti-aging properties.

Inflammation fighting capabilities

Chronic inflammation is the result of the body’s inability to control its own immune response. What starts out as a normal call for help to your white blood cells because you bumped your knee or twisted your ankle, causes a cascade effect which results in your body not being able to “flick the off switch” on the call for help.
A number of ethanol extract studies on the nopal fruit have shown that ingestion of it can inhibit leukocyte (white blood cell) migration, which is the catalyst in the development of inflammatory disease. In addition, the studies showed suppression of edema, or fluid retention.

Lowering Bad Cholesterol

The Nopal fruit is a rich source of pectin, a soluble fiber, which is found to reduce LDL cholesterol levels. It does so by decreasing the absorption of sugar in the stomach and intestines. In fact, a study done by Dr. Maria L Fernandez as published in the “Journal of Nutrition” showed that consumption of prickly pear cactus lead to a 28 percent drop in total cholesterol levels in the animals tested which is pretty substantial.
Decrease of Blood Sugar Values

There have been several studies on the effect of nopal juice extract on blood glucose values. One, done in 1995 and published in the “Journal of Ethnopharmacology”, revealed an 18 percent decrease among participants while another, done by a group in California showed that adding nopal to a high carbohydrate Mexican diet among patients with Type 2 diabetes actually reduced the concentration of glucose in the body immediately after the meal.

The reason for this, again, stems back to the amount of pectin within the fruit. By reducing the absorption of sugar in the stomach and intestines, the overall blood glucose values of the body are reduced.

Overall, the studies on the nopal cactus fruit, and the juice that comes from it, reveal that it’s a great asset to anyone’s diet. It prevents pre-mature aging, promotes optimal cellular health, reduces inflammation and detoxifies the body. One word of caution, however, for those on medications for any sort of health condition that they hope nopal cactus juice may help with- as with any nutritional change you make to your diet, you should consult your physician before giving nopal cactus juice a try.

If you are interested in adding nopal cactus juice to your daily nutrition arsenal, health and wellness company, TriVita, makes a product called Nopalea which might be just what you are looking for. It contains nopal cactus fruit, additional superfruit extracts and is sweetened with agave nectar.
